You will learn in a personal atmosphere through hands-on experience and from experts with strong links to the health sector, government and community. You will study processes and structures related to providing services in specialist areas such as childcare, education, welfare, development and learning, family studies and child protection, and learn about ethics in child and family services. You will undertake professional practice placements in your second and third year for which you must be available five working days each week. Advanced Diploma pathway The Advanced Diploma pathway is designed for students who have previously completed an Advanced Diploma in Children's Services, an Advanced Diploma in Community Sector Management or an Advanced Diploma in Community Services Work and have at least two years industry experience in the early childhood or related sectors. This pathway recognises a student's prior learning and provides a pathway to a Bachelor degree qualification. All the courses are completed online and there are two intakes available each year. Students who complete this pathway and are awarded the Bachelor of Child, Youth and Family Practice may be eligible for admission to the Master of Teaching Primary. Upon completion of the Master of Teaching Primary, students will be eligible for teacher registration in Queensland and will be able to undertake the role of pedagogical leader in child care centres in Australia. Honours is available through an additional year of study.
